* Flood Warning for...
  Central Oxford County in western Maine...
  Northern Androscoggin County in southwestern Maine...
  South central Franklin County in western Maine...
  Southeastern Coos County in northern New Hampshire...
  Northeastern Carroll County in northern New Hampshire...

* Until 1230 AM EDT

* At 1024 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
  flooding. Embedded thunderstorms will lead to rainfall rates of an
  inch per hour, with rainfall totals this evening and tonight in
  the two to three inch range.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Fryeburg, Bethel, Rumford, Turner, Dixfield, Canton, Andover,
  Mexico, Waterford, Wilton, Gorham, Bartlett, Livermore, Buckfield,
  Hartford, Lovell, Greenwood, Jackson, Carthage and Chatham.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

* At 842 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain which will cause flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Rangeley, Andover, Errol, Grafton, Weld, Dixville, Phillips,
  Carthage, Dallas Plantation, Byron, South Arm, Sandy River
  Plantation, Upton, Lincoln Plantation, Rangeley Plantation,
  Magalloway Plantation, Roxbury, Lang, Adamstown and Richardsontown.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  West central Oxford County in western Maine...
  West central Franklin County in western Maine...

* Until 1245 AM EDT

* At 947 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain with embedded
  thunderstorms continuing to enter portions of northern Oxford and
  northern Franklin counties. As new areas of heavy rain move into
  the region, flash flooding is expected to begin.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Rangeley, Andover, Grafton, Weld, Dallas Plantation, Byron,
  Magalloway Plantation, Richardsontown, South Arm, Sandy River
  Plantation, Rangeley Plantation, Upton, Lang, Adamstown and Davis.

This also includes...
  Old Speck Mountain, Grafton Notch, Speck Pond, Table Rock, and
Baldpate Mountain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of Coastal DownEast Maine, East Central Maine,
  Eastern Maine, Far Northern Maine, Interior DownEast Maine,
  and Northern Maine, including the following areas, in Coastal
  DownEast Maine, Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington. In
  East Central Maine, Central Penobscot and Northern Penobscot.
  In Eastern Maine, Northern Washington. In Far Northern Maine,
  Northeast Aroostook. In Interior DownEast Maine, Central
  Washington, Interior Hancock, and Southern Penobscot. In
  Northern Maine, Southeast Aroostook.

* Until 6 PM EDT this evening

* Rain will continue early this evening and taper off overnight
  tonight. An additional quarter to a half inch is possible across
  the area this evening bringing rainfall amounts over 4 inches
  in many locations.

* Flooding of small streams and low lying areas is possible into
  early this evening. Fallen leaves clogging drains may
  exacerbate the flooding in some areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
