Rainfall warning in effect for:

Mount Carleton - Renous Highway
Heavy rain and windy conditions are expected.

Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm. Locally 60 mm possible.

Maximum wind gusts: 60 to 80 km/h with higher wind gusts possible along the Fundy Coast and over higher terrain.

Time span: Showers today will become heavy rain this evening.

Remarks: Rain is expected to switch to periods of snow Saturday afternoon before ending on Saturday evening. In addition, strong gusty winds will develop today and they will reach close to the warning criteria (90 km/h) along the Fundy Coast. These strong winds will diminish by Saturday morning.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Cumberland County - Minas Shore
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Heavy rain and windy conditions are expected.

Total rainfall: 25 to 50 mm. Locally 60 mm possible.

Maximum wind gusts: 60 to 80 km/h with higher wind gusts possible over exposed areas.

Time span: Heavy rain is forecast to develop tonight or Saturday morning, and move east of the province Saturday evening or overnight.

Remarks: rain is likely to switch to snow for some areas late Saturday afternoon or evening as the temperatures drop. Winds will strengthen, nearing warning levels for much of the province and there is potential for power outages to occur. Conditions will improve Saturday night.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
