New record of 10.3 

Old record of 10.0 set in 2000

Temperatures are forecast to fall rapidly. Ponding water, slush, and any falling precipitation will freeze as the temperature drops.

Locations: Most of New Brunswick.

Temperatures: falling rapidly to -8 to - 14.

Time span: Thursday morning and afternoon.

Remarks: After a period of mild temperatures with rain and melting snowpack, rain will change briefly to snow overnight with temperatures dropping quickly below the freezing mark.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
2 AM EST THURSDAY...

* WHAT....Large waves near the time of high tide around 1 am may
  cause overwash and erosion for locations exposed to the open
  ocean.

* WHERE...Coastal Washington County.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 2 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Erosion can be expected for locations such as Roque
  Bluffs. Overwash is possible on any coastal roads with exposure
  to large breaking ocean waves.

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum gusts: southerly 70 to 80 km/h, except up to 100 over exposed areas. 

Locations: central to southern sections of New Brunswick. 

Time span: intensifying this evening, ending by early Thursday morning.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Utility outages may occur.

  Penobscot, Southern Penobscot, Interior Hancock, Southern
  Piscataquis and Northern Washington Counties.

* WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and
  powerlines. Isolated to scattered power outages may result.
