Snowfall warning in effect for:

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.

Locations: Southern New Brunswick

Time span: Saturday morning until Saturday evening.

Remarks: The highest accumulations will occur over areas along the Fundy coast where locally higher snowfall amounts could approach 30 cm by the storm's end late Saturday evening. Furthermore, strong east to northeast winds gusting to 70 km/h may at times significantly reduce visibility in blowing snow.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Snowfall with total amounts of 20 to 30 cm is expected.

Locations: Nova Scotia

Time span: Saturday morning until overnight Saturday night.

Remarks: The highest accumulations will occur over northern and eastern areas of the province where locally higher snowfall amounts could approach 30 cm by the storm's end overnight Saturday night. Furthermore, strong east to northeast winds gusting to 60 to 80 km/h may significantly reduce visibility in blowing snow.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Road closures are possible. Heavy snowfall accumulation may cause tree branches to break.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

.A quick moving system will cross the area tonight into Saturday.
A burst of snowfall is expected on the leading edge of
precipitation tonight followed by a transition to sleet and
freezing rain from southwest to northeast across southern New
Hampshire and southernmost Maine late tonight and Saturday
morning. Some of that snow may briefly be moderate to heavy
before the transition. Farther north, mostly snow is expected.

Significant snowfall accumulations, exceeding 15 cm, and strong east or northeast winds over much of the province beginning Saturday.

Locations: Nova Scotia

Time span: Saturday and Saturday night.

Remarks: Current indications are that snow will begin in southwestern Nova Scotia early Saturday morning and then spread eastward across the province, reaching eastern areas by late afternoon. Along parts of the Atlantic coast, especially in the southwest, rain is expected. Over these areas, snowfall amounts will be much lower than inland areas. Northern and eastern areas of the province could see 20 cm of snow with locally higher amounts approaching 30 cm by the storm's end overnight Saturday night. Additionally, strong east to northeast winds gusting to 60 to 80 km/h may significantly reduce visibility in blowing snow.

Snowfall warnings have been issued for Annapolis, Kings, Hants and parts of Cumberland and Colchester counties. Additional warnings will likely be issued for parts of eastern Nova Scotia later today as this system continues to draw nearer.
