...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and
  9 inches. Winds could gust as high as 30 to 35 mph. Snowfall rates
  will approach 1 to 2 inches per hour in the heaviest bands.

* WHERE...Portions of Coastal DownEast, Far Eastern, Interior
  DownEast, and Penobscot Valley Maine

* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
  could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Monday morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel extremely dangerous. If you must travel,
keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of
an emergency.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 7
  inches along and south of a line from about Dover-Foxcroft to
  Houlton. To the north of this line, total snow accumulations of 3
  to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 30 to 35 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of Central Highlands, Far Eastern, Far Northern,
  and North Woods Maine

* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow
  could reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the
  Monday morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause
primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited
visibilities, and use caution while driving.

The latest road conditions for Maine can be obtained by going to

Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you
must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will
keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to
reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a
hat will keep you from losing your body heat.

Edmundston and Madawaska County
A prolonged period of very cold wind chills is expected.

Coldest wind chills: -35 to -40.

Locations: northwestern New Brunswick.

Time span: Monday night until Wednesday morning.

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

Locations: Prince County.

Time span: tonight into tomorrow morning.

Remarks: An area of low pressure will rapidly track across Nova Scotia tonight into tomorrow morning bringing heavy snow to western Prince Edward Island. Gusty northerly winds will develop behind the low and combine with the freshly fallen snow to cause periods of reduced visibility in blowing snow during the day Monday.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Freezing Rain Warning in effect for:
Cumberland County North and Cobequid Pass
Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Locations: northern mainland Nova Scotia.

Freezing rain duration: 4 to 8 hours.

Time span: late this evening until Monday morning.

Remarks: An intensifying weather system will push a rain/snow boundary across central Nova Scotia later tonight and into tomorrow morning. There is strong likelihood of a persistent period of freezing rain near this boundary, with accumulating snow to the west of it and rain further to the east. At this time, the likelihood of freezing rain affecting western portions of Cumberland County is beginning to diminish.

Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
