Winter storm watch for
Halifax County - east of Porters Lake issued

Snow and some blowing snow Wednesday with amounts 10 to 15 centimetres.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system developing off the eastern us seaboard this afternoon will track northeastward to lie over the Gulf of Maine Wednesday morning. It will then intensify as it tracks near Southwestern Nova Scotia to lie over Cape Breton Wednesday evening.

Snow ahead of this system will begin over Southwestern Nova Scotia late this evening then spread across the mainland overnight and then Cape Breton early Wednesday morning. Snowfall totals of 20 to 25 centimetres are expected over western regions with amounts of 10 to 15 centimetres for eastern regions where the snow is forecast to change to rain. The precipitation will gradually end from west to east later in the day Wednesday.

In addition Les Suetes winds gusting to 140 km/h are forecast Wednesday afternoon as the low approaches Cape Breton.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as additional warnings may be required.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system will develop near Long Island this afternoon then track northeastward to lie over the Gulf of Maine Wednesday morning. It will then intensify as it tracks over Southwestern Nova Scotia to lie near Cape Breton Island Wednesday evening.

Snow ahead of this system will begin over Southwestern Nova Scotia late this evening then spread across the mainland overnight and then Cape Breton early Wednesday morning. Snowfall totals up to 20 centimetres are expected with the highest amounts over Colchester and Cumberland counties. The precipitation will gradually end from west to east Wednesday evening. Snowfall amounts will be less along the Atlantic coast as the snow will change to rain during the day.

In addition Les Suetes winds gusting to 140 km/h are forecast Wednesday afternoon as the low approaches Cape Breton.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as additional warnings may be required.

A low pressure system will develop near Long Island this afternoon then track northeastward to lie over the Gulf of Maine Wednesday morning. It will then intensify as it tracks over Southwestern Nova Scotia to lie near Cape Breton Island Wednesday evening.

Snow ahead of this system will begin over Southwestern Nova Scotia late this evening then spread across the mainland overnight and then Cape Breton early Wednesday morning. Heavy snow and blowing snow Wednesday with amounts of 15 to 30 centimetres expected.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system will develop near Long Island this afternoon then track northeastward to lie over the Gulf of Maine Wednesday morning. It will then intensify as it tracks over Southwestern Nova Scotia to lie near Cape Breton Island Wednesday evening.

Snow ahead of this system will begin over the island by dawn Wednesday and continue all day before ending Wednesday evening. The snow will likely mix with rain in Kings County during the afternoon. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 30 centimetres are forecast over the island by Wednesday evening.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as additional warnings may be required.

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick issued

Total snowfall in excess of 15 centimetres expected over Southeastern New Brunswick later tonight and Wednesday.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system will develop near Long Island this afternoon then track northeastward to lie over the Gulf of Maine Wednesday morning. It will then reintensify as it tracks over Southwestern Nova Scotia to lie near Cape Breton Island Wednesday evening.

Snow ahead of this system will begin over Southwestern New Brunswick late this evening then spread northeastward to the remainder of the province overnight. Snow will gradually end from west to east Wednesday afternoon. The highest amounts are expected over southeastern areas of the province where near 20 centimetres are expected with gradually lesser amounts expected to the north and west. Note that the system has yet to form and even a slight shift in its forecast track or intensity could have a significant impact in the amount of precipitation received in any area. The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as additional warnings may be required.
