A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT DEVELOPED EAST OF CAPE HATTERAS ON FRIDAY
TRACKED NORTHEASTWARD PASSING SOUTH OF NOVA SCOTIA ON SATURDAY TO
LIE OVER SOUTHERN NEWFOUNDLAND EARLY THIS MORNING. THE LOW
INTENSIFIED RAPIDLY DURING THE DAY SATURDAY AND BROUGHT HEAVY
SNOW TO EASTERN NOVA SCOTIA AND CAPE BRETON. SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS
WERE GENERALLY IN THE 20 TO 40 CM RANGE.
