Southern Maritimes Snowstorm

Snowfall warning in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West

Significant snowfall of 15 to 25 cm Monday.

Locations: Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, Truro, Pictou County, Antigonish County and Cape Breton,

Time span: early Monday morning until Monday evening.

Remarks: A low pressure system will pass just south of Nova Scotia on Monday, bringing a widespread snowfall of 15 to 20 cm. Highest amounts will occur over eastern Nova Scotia, and could exceed 25 cm. Heavy snowfall will taper off from west to east Monday evening.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Cumberland County - Minas Shore

Spring snowfall expected Monday.

Total snowfall: 5 to 10 cm, possibly exceeding 10 cm locally.

Locations: Fundy coast, Colchester county, and Cumberland county.

Time span: Monday morning to Monday evening.

Remarks: A low pressure system is forecast to pass just offshore of Nova Scotia on Monday, and will bring a blast of winter precipitation to most of the province. Snowfall amounts will be greatest along the Atlantic coast and over eastern areas where snowfall warnings are in effect. Motorists are advised to be prepared for winter driving conditions. Conditions are expected to improve Monday evening.

Snowfall amounts will be greatest over eastern sections of the province. Motorists are advised to be prepared for winter driving conditions. Conditions are expected to improve Monday evening.
