Wind warning in effect for:

Queens County P.E.I.
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

A low pressure system over Maine will intensify as it moves across the Maritimes this afternoon to lie east of Cape Breton this evening.

In the wake of this system, strong northwesterly winds will develop tonight gusting to 90 km/h. Winds will begin to ease Wednesday morning as the low pulls away from the region.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
