Wind warning in effect for:

Queens County
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum gusts: northeasterly 70 km/h except 90 km/h along parts of the coast.

Locations: southwestern Nova Scotia.

Time Span: until this evening.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.

Maximum wind gusts: northeasterly 70 km/h.

Locations: Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County and Victoria County.

Time span: Tuesday morning until Wednesday morning.

Remarks: A period of rain and snow will ease this afternoon over eastern Cape Breton. Snow is then expected to redevelop overnight into Tuesday morning and continue until early Wednesday morning. Ice pellets may mix in with the snow for Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County Tuesday afternoon.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
