......OCEAN STORM WILL BRING LIGHT SNOW TO PARTS OF THE AREA
SUNDAY......

.Low pressure will emerge off the Mid Atlantic coast early Sunday
and spread snow to the northwest of its track. While the bulk of the
storm is expected to remain south of the area or out to sea, some
light to moderate accumulations are expected for parts of southern
New Hampshire and coastal western Maine. Additional trends in track
are possible, but significant changes to snow amounts are not
anticipated.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Maine.

* WHEN...From 1 PM Sunday to Midnight EST Sunday Night.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions due to snow covered
  roads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

Winter storm warning in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Total snowfall: 20 to 40 cm.

Maximum wind gusts: 60 to 80 km/h except near 90 km/h along parts of the Atlantic coast.

Locations: All Atlantic coastal counties of Nova Scotia, plus Pictou and Antigonish counties and all of Cape Breton Island.

Time span: Beginning late Sunday afternoon for western Nova Scotia. Beginning Sunday evening elsewhere. Snow ending from west to east Monday morning.

Remarks: Snow at times heavy will begin over southwestern Nova Scotia late Sunday afternoon and spread northeastward to the remainder of the province Sunday evening. Strong northeasterly winds will develop Sunday evening and persist into Monday morning giving near-zero visibilities at times in blowing and drifting snow. Snow will gradually end from west to east across the province beginning early Monday morning but strong northerly winds will continue to give blowing snow over the eastern half of the province until Monday afternoon.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

Cumberland County North and Cobequid Pass
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.

Locations: the Annapolis Valley, central and northern sections of Nova Scotia.

Time span: Beginning late afternoon or early evening Sunday, ending Monday morning.

Remarks: Snow at times heavy is expected across the province Sunday night. Strong northeasterly winds will develop Sunday evening and persist into Monday morning giving reduced visibilities at times in blowing and drifting snow. Snow will gradually end from west to east across the province beginning early Monday morning.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Coastal DownEast Maine and
Interior DownEast Maine.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Snow will move into Downeast Sunday morning before exiting by Monday
morning. The potential exists for light to moderate snowfall
accumulations, mainly across Hancock and Washington counties.

Weather spotters are encouraged to report significant weather
conditions according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Total snowfall: 10 to 20 cm, potentially higher.

Maximum wind gusts: 70 km/h or higher.

Locations: southern and eastern New Brunswick.

Time span: Sunday evening through to midday Monday.

Remarks: Snow will spread across southern New Brunswick Sunday evening with strong northeasterly winds and blowing snow developing overnight into Monday. There is still some uncertainty with regards to the track and timing of the system, but significant snowfall especially over southern New Brunswick is possible.
