Eastern Maine, Far Northern Maine, North Woods Maine and Penobscot
Valley Maine.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

A widespread freeze is expected tonight. Freezing conditions could
kill sensitive vegetation.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 26 expected.

* WHERE...Coastal Hancock, Coastal Washington, Central Washington,
  Interior Hancock, and Southern Penobscot Counties.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 8 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
  sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
  plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.

Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
